A national park is a piece of territory set aside for the preservation and protection of the biodiversity, ecosystems, locations with significant cultural significance, and natural or geological characteristics. The public can visit national parks and learn more about their significance by doing so. National Parks are protected and cared for by Government.
PURPOSE
The protection of the environment, biodiversity, natural ecosystems, significant landforms, and geological processes; preservation of culturally significant items, locations, features, and landscapes; encouraging public understanding, enjoyment, and conservation of natural and cultural heritage.
